Young People

Reconciliation

As part of With You Always Family Catechesis there has been a lot of discussion about the needs of young people in our parishes. There is concern about what ministry with young people will look like when it no longer includes preparation for Confirmation. How can we continue to pass on the faith in our famlies, parishes, and schools?

Starting in Lent 2013 the Archdiocese of Liverpool will pilot celebrations of the Sacrament of Reconciliation with teenagers and their families, parish and school communities. These will be opportunities for young people to celebrate together with their families God's great forgiveness. This is another example of Family Catechesis in action. Celebrations of Reconciliation will continue at special events for young people each year afterwards.

Special thanks to Animate Youth Ministries for helping with this endeavour.

Jesus spoke to them... 'and know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.' (Matthew 28:20)

Parents '...will be the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith.  May they also be the best of teachers bearing witness to the faith by what they say and do...' (Rite of Baptism)
