Your home is a holy place! It is the first school of Christian life well suited to teaching children about the rights of others, thinking before acting, and serving others. The home is also the place parents teach their children about the importance of the spiritual life rather than the pursuit of materialism.
Parents have the privilege and responsibility of passing on the faith to their own children. They do this by their home life, by teaching their children to pray and by involving their family in the Mass and parish life. The role of parents in educating their children in faith is of great importance and without it there is almost no adequate substitute. The home is a community of faith, hope and charity - a community of love.
